Obstetrics

Obstetrical care is provided as a team, and obstetric patients are cared for by all of us both for prenatal care and at the time of the delivery. This allows someone to be available to you 24 hours a day. We share similar practice styles and discuss and plan for higher risk pregnancies as a group. This insures good communication between our team members and the highest quality of care. A full range of obstetric services are available through our practice including:

• Prenatal care for routine pregnancies and many high risk conditions such as hypertension, obesity, teen pregnancy, advanced age pregnancy, gestational diabetes, and well controlled diabetes
• Pregnancy ultrasound
• Screening for birth defects and genetic disorders with ultrasound, blood tests, and amniocentesis
• Ultrasound - initial and 18-20 wk screening
• Visits - initial and approx. 12 brief visits
• Nutritional counseling

For those patients with high risk conditions outside our ability to manage, we consult with the perinatologists at Atlantic Fetal Medicine in Jacksonville and at East Carolina University in Greenville.
